Formal and informal portraits and and photographs of Carl, Lillian, Mark and Paul Schaefer, as well as of prominent Canadian artists who were colleagues and friends of Carl Schaefer. Photographs of oil paintings, watercolours and drawings by Carl Schaefer, each of which is annotated with a complete history of the work depicted [the creation of the work, its subsequent ownership, and exhibitions in which the work has appeared].
