This accession consist of operational records from the Prince Edward Island Regional Office of Industry, Science and Technology Canada (ISTC). These records had been originally created by ISTC predecessor departments--Department of Regional Economic Expansion (DREE) until this department was dissolved in 1983, and the Department of Regional Industrial Expansion (DRIE) from 1983 until it was dissolved in 1988. Files are arranged using the department's block-numeric file classification system. The majority of the files are from the "General" series, file block 6600. Subjects include DREE Labour Intensive Capital Projects, Federal Development Strategy, Industrial and Regional Development Program (IRDP), Microelectronics Support Program, Regional Development Incentives Act (RDIA), Promotions Projects Program, and Special Investment Tax Credit Program.

These records were originally held in Nova Scotia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
