Tom Evans brings home to the farm a waitress from Toronto as his wife. His mother refuses to accept Gloria at all. Gloria's attempts to help in the house are rebuffed. The hired man, Pete, gets her to drive the tractor and she is happy to be able to contribute. Meanwhile, the town gossips and Mrs. Sampson tell Mrs. Evans about Gloria's past. Mrs. Evans accuses Gloria, who, in turn, tells about Mr. Sampson and leaves. Tom finds why Gloria left and goes after her and brings her back. Pete leaves for the church board meeting to tell the truth and to restore Gloria's reputation. Mrs. Evans repants and resolves to be kind to Gloria. <60mn>
