Flashback Violet's brother George elopes and marries Isabelle; now Violet must give up her training as a nurse to provide for Momma. Ralph asks Violet to forget her mother and marry him, but her mother's hold is too strong. Finally she goes to George to get him to look after the mother, but the mother has a stroke and dies. Now she cannot marry Ralph. Ellen's mother died in childbirth and her father, therefore, will have nothing to do with Ellen. Violet comes to live with her. Violet's niece is married and Ellen sings (badly) at the wedding. Violet and Ellen have nothing much left in life and they begin to think about a trip to Europe: "We're in no hurry". Violet has arthritis and Ellen's eyes are failing. The broadcast concludes with an appeal by Andrew Allan for public support of the United Nations Appeal for Children and the Canadian Council for Reconstruction. <60mn>Langue :EnglishRemarques :Genre :DRAMADétails de l'inventaire : -
