Architectural, technical - drawings: (Papier) Finding aid has been divided into map and architectural-engineering drawings, then arranged by Manuscript Division volume number. The finding aid is a detailed item listing. The accession has also been indexed according to building type. A subject index prepared by Barnett is available in the Manuscript Division. Barnett, J. Note générale :

Accession primarily consists of material associated with railway equipment, stations and routes in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Many of the drawings, dating from the period 1870-1900, originated in the mechanical drawing departments of the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada and the Great Western Railway Company of England, although various other sources are also represented.

Historique de la conservation :

In 1918, Barnett gave his entire collection to the University of Western Ontario. In 1975 the university transferred most of the material to the Public Archives of Canada. Under the call number MG 30 B 86, the various parts of the collection are being held by the appropriate PAC divisions.
