Photographs taken during the Mackenzie Delta and Peel River surveys of the summers of 1958 amd 1960; the survey of Melville Island, 1962; and the King William Island and Adelaide Peninsula survey, 1956.. All the albums are concerned primarily with geology and geomorphology; the captions accompanying each photograph are a considerable aid to understanding the contents of the images. While this is the main content of the imagery, there is also considerable material relating to human society and habitation. The 1958 trip includes views of the Peel River and Satha River areas, considerable material on Fort McPherson, and views of some isolated trading posts. The 1960 trip includes views of the Mackenzie Delta and particularly of the Arctic Red River, and the settlement of Arctic Red River. Both the preceding albums contain aerial photographs and panoramas, the latter made from two to ten joined exposures. The Melville Island album of 1962 includes, aside from views of terrain and the geomorphology, some views of Parry Rock, the Bernier plaque claiming the Arctic Archipelago for Canada, Cornwallis Island, and remains of Inuit dwellings..
Albums of negatives for the 1960 and 1962 surveys are also found in the collection..
The photographs were mounted in albums and entered in the Geological Survey library (according to library stamps found in the albums). Mr. Henoch had kept the negatives in his own albums.
