Album presented to Caroline Bucknall Estcourt by her sister-in-law, Lucy in 1837, containing drawings, watercolours, prints, letters, poems and other related items of Canadian interest (military views, views of sleighing, Micmac Indians, Niagara Falls, Lundy's Lane, etc.) and non-Canadian subjects, including views in England (Saltash, Antony, Eastnor Castle, Herefordshire), Ireland (Cashel), and elsewhere. There are also numerous manuscript notes, including prayers in Ojibway presented by Sir George Arthur, and poems done while the Estcourts lived at Lundy's Lane. Includes Private Townshend manuscript account of the march of the 43rd Regiment from Fredericton to Quebec and Sorel, Dec. 1937 to Jan. 1838.. Works by the following artists: Lady Caroline B. Estcourt, Sir James B. Bucknall Estcourt, John Bulteel, H. Cave, Sir William John Codrington, Godfrey Charles Mundy, William Robert Herries, C.D., Juliana Agar-Robarts (née Pole-Carew), Lady Anna Maria Head (née Yorke), Catherine Pole-Carew, Frances Antonia Yorke (née Pole-Carew), E.M. Glanville, Henry Rodrigues and Unknown Artist 293.

The album measures 29.3 x 23.8 cm. (11 1/2 x 9 1/4 inches) and contains 78 folios (with many cut out). The folios vary in colour, and include green, pink, plain, yellow, brown, grey and embossed sheets. There are also loose items between the folios..
A number of the items have been photographed, but the whole album has also been microfilmed as H-1117..
Related acquisitions in the holdings include two sketchbooks kept by Sir James Bucknall Bucknall Estcourt relating to life in England and to his activities as the Maine-New Brunswick Boundary Commissioner (acc. no. 1988-22-1 and 1988-22-2); the Estcourt Album, now disassembled, purchased in 1950 from Frank Sabin, and containing 98 watercolours and drawings relating to the Estcourt's posting in Canada (acc. no. 1950-029).
5 watercolours done by Caroline Estcourt of New Brunswick scenes, acquired in 1979 (acc. no. 1979-021); and two copies of a set of four lithographs of Quebec sporting scenes done in 1844 by Caroline Estcourt (one in the NA collection, and one from the W.H. Coverdale Collection, acc. no. 1970-188).
