This accession consists of textual administrative and operational records created and/or maintained by the Thompson District Office (including the records of its predecessor, The Pas District Office) of the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs between 1960-1982. The files are arranged according to the department's old modified duplex numeric system. Subjects covered by these files include but are not limited to the following: Organizaion and Administration, School Building, Reports and Returns and Indian Education. The files are generally organized by band number within each subject block.

The records of Thompson District Office were first sent to the Manitoba Regional Office of Indian and Northern Affairs prior to being transferred to the Manitoba Region Federal Records Centre.
