Farrell begins with the genealogy of the Farrell and Kennedy families, many of whom worked in the lumber trade in the Valley. Farrell also relates humorous stories of his Uncle Jack and other members of his family. Additional stories of Danny Farrell, the trickster, Lionel Munro, the bootlegger, Joe Madore, dour Angus McLean who ran the Quyon ferry for years and others are related.
