Meehan recalls visiting her Moriarity and Shea relatives on the Opeongo Line when the family travelled by the Grand Trunk Railway. She also recalls the tragic drowning of her relative, Pat Moriarity, when he fell through the ice and the subsequent discovery of his body many months later. Meehan outlines the many places she worked as a maid as a young girl, and focuses on her work at the Fort William Hotel for $10 a month. She describes the hotel during its heydays in the 1920s and 30s - its many rooms, storage sheds for canned goods and crates of fruit and the many regular visitors including the Rooneys from Aylmer. Also discussed in the interview are the horse races on the ice between Chicester and Sheenboro and "Tess", the prize winning racehorse owned by her uncle Jim Shea.Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
