Interview of Peter O'Gorman age 91 of Cobden, Ontario, descendant of early Irish settlers in the Ottawa Valley. O'Gorman, who claims that the earliest O'Gorman brothers are ancestors of 700 descendants, briefly talks about the history of Renfrew County and the military road that his grandfather helped build from Pembroke to Kingston, Ontario, in 1838. He also talks about the early methods of making maple syrup, tanning leather in tamarak tree juices, and the geology of the the former timber area near the Muskrat and Deep Rivers. Additional discussion of the numerous Conway descendants and legendary figures such as Mountain Jack Thompson. O'Gorman continues with his service in World War One at the Battle of Vimy Ridge and at Passchendaele when he was wounded during both battles. O'Gorman concludes with his memories of the rural school he attended in 1897 and recites poetry he learned 80 years ago.
