The Kirbys begin with a discussion of their ancestors who were early settlers at Chute-à-Blondeau and later in Ottawa where they established an insurance business. They continue with a discussion of early hockey in the Valley including the Challenge Cup series, the medal won by their ancestor, Chauncey T. Kirby, the Ottawa Senators and the Ahearne family. Mrs. Kirby talks about her work, her social life in the 1920s and her family's interest in music and concerts. Other topics in the interview are: stories of Ottawa Valley lumber baron J. R.
