Fonds consists of fiction feature films produced by Malofilm Productions or distributed by Malofilm Distribution. Also included are posters advertising two Canadian feature films distributed by Malofilm Distribution. Material has been divided into two series as follows: Malofilm Production; and Malofilm Distribution.

Malofilm Communications : Malofilm Communications is a prominent Canadian company involved in the broadcasting and entertainment industry. A vertically-integrated company, Malofilm is active in the development, production, distribution and international sale of feature-length film, video, television and multimedia programming. Malofilm is known primarily as a leading independent distributor of home video. They have offices in Montreal, Toronto, Quebec, Los Angeles and Paris, and are characterized by exclusive distribution agreements with U.S. producers including Paramount, Trimark/Vidmark, Samuel Goldwyn Company, Turner, Hanna-Barbera, Nelvana, Norstar, Saban, and International Keystone. Malofilm had its beginnings in 1970 with the establishment of Image Corporation, an enterprise engaged primarily in the production of educational films. In 1973 René Malo founded Les Films René Malo, an enterprise engaged primarily in film distribution. In 1982 the company acquired 50% of New World Pictures, a distributor of feature length films in English speaking Canada. Image Corporation was renamed Malofilm Productions in 1987 and, in 1988, René Malo Video and Les Films René Malo merged to become Malofilm Distribution. Later that year Malofilm Group was established as a parent company to Malofilm Productions and Malofilm Distribution. Also in 1988, Malofilm Distribution acquired the remaining 50% of New World Mutual Pictures, thus becoming its sole owner. In 1991 Malofilm Group sold Malofilm Distribution, repurchasing Malofilm Distribution in 1993. Also in 1993, Malofilm Communications was established and acquired Malofilm Distribution and 51 % of Malofilm Productions. Malofilm Group became responsible for the management of Malofilm Communications. In 1994 Malofilm Communications acquired 49 % of Malofilm Production and 5% of the capital of Keystone Entertainment. In 1996 Malofilm Communications expanded its activities into the arena of interactive development and publishing. This resulted from the acquisition of Toronto-based ReadySoft, Quebec City-based Megatoon Studios, and Montreal- based MMI MultiMedia Interactif. As a result, Malofilm reorganized to incorporate the new interactive division, and underwent a series of name changes. Malofilm Communications became Malofilm Interactive. The company is now known as Behaviour Interactive.
