The series consists of seven groupings: exhibition files; exhibition catalogues; edition records; articles and books; project files; covers and illustrations; and lectures and teaching. The material is arranged chronologically within each grouping.

The exhibition files were largely created by Dickson and largely consist of publicity material relating to specific exhibitions, filed by title of exhibition. The exhibition catalogues include ones for both one-man and group shows, in Canada and abroad. See also Royal Academy of Arts Series.

The edition records, recording the number of prints within particular suites and their disposition, include one records book covering a ten-year period, and then files devoted to specific suites by title.

The articles and books files include typescripts and printed copies of art reviews written by Dickson as well as studies relating to the arts that she undertook on behalf of the Canadian Artists Representation (CARFAC) and the Print and Drawing Council of Canada. There is extensive material on Dickson's book, "The Hospital for Wounded Angels". See also material related to a publication entitled "Sightlines: Printmaking and Image Culture". The miscellaneous other projects files include ones on exhibitions Dickson helped to arrange for other artists, some graphic design work, and her contribution to a portfolio produced by the Suncor company. The covers and illustrations include examples of publications which used her artwork as illustration.

The lectures and teaching files consist of Dickson's notes, course outlines and texts of lectures presented at the National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography, Saidye Bronfman Centre in Montreal, the University of Ottawa, and elsewhere.

Miscellaneous other projects files include Dickson's research on the Granduchess of Tuscany Bianca Cappello.
