Panchuk, G.R.B, 1915-1987 : Born in Petersen, Saskatchewan on February 2, 1915 in a family of Ukrainian pioneers, Bohdan Panchuk was educated in Meacham and Saskatoon and taught in rural schools from 1935-1939. He continued his education at the University of Saskatchewan residing at the Mohyla Institute.

In 1941, Panchuk joined the Royal Canadian Air Force and was stationed in England, where he was not only one of the founders of the Ukrainian Canadian Servicemen's Club in 1943, but also helped establish the Central Ukrainian Relief Bureau in 1945 to assist Ukrainian displaced persons and refugees in western Europe. While serving in London, England, he met, and later married, his wife Ann Cherniawsky.

Panchuk remained in Europe after the Second World War to continue his work with refugees, but returned to Canada in 1952 and got involved with the Ukrainian Section of the International Service of the CBC from 1952-1955. He received his Bachelor degree from Sir George William University the following year, as well as a Master's degree in 1961 from the University of Montreal. Panchuk continued to reside in Montreal, where he taught at the Rosemount High School for 25 years (1955-1980). He was very active in the Ukrainian Canadian Veterans Association, the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and other community organizations at the national and local levels. In 1982, he was appointed Rector of the Mohyla Institute in Saskatoon.

Bohdan Panchuk died in Montreal on June 20, 1987.
