Fonds consists of film footage dealing with pre-World War II commercial aviation in the Winnipeg region, with emphasis on Johannessen Flying Service. Photographic material depicts: training operations of the Royal Flying Corps and Royal Air Force in Egypt, 1917-1918; activities and players of the Winnipeg Falcons hockey team at the Winter Olympic Games, Antwerp, Belgium, 1920. Photographs by Konrad (Konnie) Johannesson.

Johannesson, Konrad : Konrad (Konnie) Johannesson, aviator, hockey player, of Winnipeg, Manitoba. In April of 1917, Johannesson went overseas to become a Royal Flying Corps Flying Instructor at the RFC airfield at El Khanka, Egypt. Returning to Winnipeg in 1919, he played hockey for the Winnipeg Falcons. In 1920, Johannesson and the Falcons won the Allan Cup and the Olympic Gold Medal for hockey. Konrad Johannesson was chief flying instructor at the Winnipeg Flying Club from 1929 to 1932. During World War II, Johannesson taught Icelandic flying students to fly so they could join the Royal Canadian Air Force.
