Item opens with Harold Tovell's birthday party, with grandmother Susan Denton Massey, cousin Grace Merry, and Mrs. Gerald, Denton Massey's mother-in-law in attendance. Camera focuses on the antics of two Pekinese pups at play. Freeman Tovell, mother Ruth, Vincent, Betty Massey and Marylin daughters of Denton Massey watch delightedly. Later, the boys pose in their Eton costumes. Long sequences on snow scenes, Ruth Tovell, Walter, Helen Williams go on walks, ski, coast down slopes on sleds and tobogans. After a snow fight, Susan, Helen and Dorothy Jane Gouldings try on their skates. Vincent plays with the Pekinese and his wagon. Shots of Harold, Ruth and the boys strolling on snowy road. A skater plays with a hockey on the frozen pond. Back to summer, boys put firecrackers under cans and blow them up. After a sequence on cricket, the camera returns to winter scenes, sliding, skiing and tobbaganing. <9mn 24s>
