Vincent Tovell and Dorothy Jane Goulding recite French folk stories and fables under the direction of their governess, Mlle Letellier. This is followed by the chore of washing the rabbit house. Sequences on a picnic with the Bertram Brookers and the Knoxes. The children swim, some naked. Cut to the rose garden at the Andersons with their guests Dr. and Mrs. Connell and Mr. and Mrs. McCallum. Vincent Tovell enjoys his birthday party. Children play with a model sail boat and work in the garden under the supervision of a couple of women. All cooperate in painting the roof of the rabbit house. Someone finds a turtle and becomes the centre of attention. The kids then go for a swim in the fountain. Sequences on a picnic at Collins Bay with Harold and Ruth Tovell and Walter and Freeman.
