Tellier and Buszowski talk about the aftermath of the CSU strike in 1949 when the CSU members were blacklisted by the shipowners forcing the seamen to seek work where they could ashore. Tellier recalls his work as a CSU patrolman and later as strike organizer - work that resulted in his imprisonment. Other topics discussed in the interview include: the seafarers' unions on the west coast of Canada; Tellier's experiences on the Great Lake carriers; French-speaking seamen; a comparison of lake and deep-sea seamen; and the relationship between the Communist Party, Marxist philosophy and the CSU. The interview concludes with Tellier, Buszowski and others reminiscing about their seafaring days.Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
