Milley, a Newfoundlander, joined the CSU in 1944 at the age of 17. He recalls his wartime experiences when German U-boats harassed the Allied convoys crossing the Atlantic. Milley also discusses the difficult living and working conditions endured by the seamen aboard the merchant ships; the differences between the lake and deep-sea ships; his dislike of the Seafarers International Union; and his deep feelings for the CSU.Langue :English -
