This series documents Gool's own publishing company, Square Deal Publications, which he founded in order to facilitate the publishing of works by Maritime authors whose voices were not always heard through Canada's major publishing houses. The series includes manuscript submissions n.d.,1965-1986; financial and business records n.d., 1970-1984; correspondence and memoranda n.d., 1948-1988; as well as records related to the promotion and publicity of Square Deal's listings n.d., 1970-1980. The series includes portraits of Terence Johnson, Tom Gallant, Lucy Gertrude Clarkin, P.E.I. Premier Walter Shaw, Robin Mathews, John Oughton, Lakshmi Gill, Gregory M. Cook, (Lionel Stevenson?) and other unidentified people.

Manuscripts include: 'Three women poets of P.E.I.' (Grace Matthews Wells, Lucy Gertrude Clarkin and Florence Roper with an introductory essay by Allan Graham) n.d.; '7 Poets from Prince Edward Island' (James J. Hornby, Larry LeClair, Frank Ledwell, John Smith, Leon Berrouard, Réshard Gool and Ted Kulik) n.d.; 'Winter in paradise' and other poetry by John Smith n.d.; 'Beach pebbles' by Leone Ross n.d.; 'Cavalier carcass' by Larry LeClair n.d.; 'Portraits & gastroscopes: a collection of Square Deal gastroscopes and personalities' by Frank Ledwell and Réshard Gool 1972; 'Folk songs of Prince Edward Island' collected and arranged by Christopher Gledhill 1973; 'Red clay soil: poems' by A.P. Campbell 1973-1974; 'New Atlantic writing' co-edited by Peter Grant & Finley Martin 1974; 'Tell me the tales' by W.R. Shaw 1975; 'Eyescapes: drawings' by Hilda Woolnough 1978; 'In Medusa's eye and other poems' by Réshard Gool (with related correspondence) 1972-1978; and 'Everywhere I've been' by Carl Sentner 1979. A file on the Atlantic Publishers' Association's founding meeting held in Charlottetown, with a copy of its Constitution 1976, is also included.

This series also contains Gool's manuscript articles and poetry for publication in 'Square Deal' magazine, as well as issues of the magazine 1970-1971, review clippings of Square Deal publications 1970-1980, as well as promotional materials 1976-1979, and book tour information 1979-1980. Included are manuscripts by others submitted for potential publication 1965-1986.
