Recherche dans la collection - Civil Defence Ottawa Valley survey, 1951 [textual record]

Accession consists of 34 binders for an Ottawa Valley survey on emergency planning . Each binder pertains to a town in eastern Ontario or West Quebec. The binder includes a brief description of the town, a survey form for merchandising, community and manufacturing enterprises, accommodation survey form, survey forms with photographs and diagrams for buildings suitable for emergencies and town plans showing land use, roads, topography and buildings which were prepared by the Geographical Branch, Dept. of Mines and Technical Services.
Also includes a binder "Geographical survey of available space for civil defence uses in the vicinity of Ottawa" and a folder containing papers entitled: "Engineereing survey Ottawa" and "Urban physical characteristics (population survey) Ottawa".

Transferred by Emergency Measures Organization, Dept. of National Defence in Aug. 1973.

Twelve maps prepared by the Geographical Branch that originally came with the accession were placed in the main collection of the National Map Collection under 449 Ottawa 1951 and 444 Ottawa 1951 and 1956.
