This newsreel contains the following items:~Franco's army enters Barcelona.~Wings over the Atlantic. Pan American Clipper Flying Boat loading up, flying, and landing. Interior shots of the pilot and of passengers.~Britain's Great Day. The King and Queen return to London from a North American tour.~Franco-British Unity. Bastille Day parade in Paris includes a British Guards regiment.~Earthquake hits Chile. 30,000 perish. Utter ruin is seen from the air and the ground.~Submarine Disaster. US submarine at sea and interior of submarine. Rescue ship and diving bell at the site where the USA Squalus went down. Thirty-three of the fifty-nine sailors are rescued. The Squalus is salvaged and towed to port.~Tientsin Foreign Settlement Causes Unrest. Agitation in the street and a mob. Japanese soldiers at a barricade at the entrance to the British concession. They search passers by.~China's Flood. Flood in city. People floating about in boats, on rafts, etc.~Love's Parade. One hundred and twenty-five couples are wed in Delorimier Stadium in Montreal.~World War II Starts. Aerials and ground shots of a Polish city after German bombardment. Shows fires and distraught civilians. Sequences on French railway guns; troops manning the Maginot Line; British troops embarking for France; and French and British battleships firing main guns.~Grain Elevator Fire in Chicago. Spectacular blaze at night. Firemen at work, etc.~US Cruisers Round Cape Horn in Storm. Shots of warships smashing through heavy seas.
