The records in this accession were created by the Canadian Army and maintained in the Central Registry. The records are arranged according to the Third Army Classification system and relate to properties, bases, buildings and facilities used and maintained by the Army. These records document accommodation planning and acquisition at the command level, for both the permanent force and militia. These records also document the acquisition, construction and maintenance of armouries, drill halls, depots, radio transmitting stations, signals stations, magazines, schools, messes, hospitals, barracks and other buildings at locations throughout Canada and in Europe.
