Accession consists of central registry files created by the Atmospheric Environment Service, Pacific Region. Files are operational in nature and cover a range of activities and subjects, including environmental protection operations, hydrology, instruments, satellites, and marine ocean weather stations and services. Accession also includes case files which document such projects as the Environmental Assessment and Review Process (E.A.R.P.) and the Sea Use Council. Files containing Pacific Region technical reports and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration reports can also be found in this accession. Principal documentary forms include correspondence, reports, minutes, government publications, and tables, charts and graphs recording scientific data.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
