Rob Parker introduces the program with a brief review of the week's news events: the visit of Princess Anne and her husband to Ottawa; the Chicago hockey match for Canadian team; and the government grant of $100 million to Indians in James Bay. John Allan Campbell sings about other recent news events.~Rape. Rob Parker hosts this item on the subject of rape. Maryon Kantaroff, feminist and sculpter, describes her own rape experience and speaks out against the inequality in our legal system which puts rape victims on trial instead of rapists, allowing rape victims to be submitted to humiliating and offensive questioning in order to establish their credibility. A re-enactment of a rape and dramatization of an actual court trial, played by Ted Follows and Joanne Noyes and directed by Peter Carter, affirms her views. Detective Norman Drysdale, who conducts rape investigations, defends the legal system. Barbara Betcherman of the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre and Max Chikofsky, private detective, express their views. An unidentified young nurse relates the horror of her rape experience and, with her husband, tells how she managed to get the rapist convicted after three trials.~Rex Murphy. In the wake of the movie THE EXORCIST, Rex Murphy impersonates the devil and delivers dire pronouncements concerning Canadian politics and politicians.~Rob Parker concludes the program. <25mn>
