Unedited interview with Bill and Sarah Paul, a Micmac Indian couple who have lived on the reservation at Shubencadie, Nova Scotia for 51 years. The Pauls describe their hard life on the reservation, building their own house, raising 14 children, and living on the food from their garden and the 75 cent daily wage that Bill earned as a logger in the 1930s. Also discussed is: the importance of the church in their community; the liquor problems among young Indians today; the need for employment rather than government relief; the integration of Indians and white people; the success of the Paul children; and Bill Paul's various trades.
