Interview by Mary Hemmings and Freda Otchere of Dorothy Davis and Violet Walters, co-founders and directors of the Montreal Children's Theatre School for over 50 years. Recalling their early training, Davis as a character actress at the Westminster Theatre School in England and Walters as a professional dancer in Montreal, the interviewees discuss their early careers in the theatre, the founding of the school for children in 1933 in Davis' basement, the school's curriculum which includes diction, movement and stagecraft and the mounting of theatrical productions performed by the children based on classic fairy tales. Additional discussion centres on their award-winning radio program "Calling All Children", their production of Hansel and Gretel at Place des Arts in Montreal and their honorary degrees conferred by Concordia University in 1984 in recognition of their noteworthy work with children for 50 years.
