Roback, who joined the Communist Party as a student in the 1930s in Germany, began working at the RCA plant in Montreal assembling field radios for the military after the war broke out. Keeping her political affiliation secret, Roback describes her activities to unionize the plant workers, especially the working women from the poorer areas of Montreal. Roback also talks about the harassment and anti-Semitism encountered at the plant as a female trade union organizer and reflects on her lifelong interest in the plight of the working poor and the trade union movement.Langue :EnglishDétails de l'inventaire : -
