The morning session begins with an opening address by conference chairman Dalton Camp followed by a brief welcome in French by co-chairman Jacques Bouchard. The day's panel dealing with the topic "The Individual in Society" are chaired by David Manill(?). The first presentation is by Dr. Marshall McLuhan who speaks on his themes of hot and cool technologies in the electric age. After a brief welcome by University of New Brunswick president, Dr. Colin B. MacKay, there is an open discussion about Dr. McLuhan's talk. The session continues with an address by University of Toronto professor of pyschiatry Dr. Daniel Cappon about the application of mental science to government. A commentary on Dr. Cappon's paper is given by Dr. Edward L. Thomas, professor of psychology at the University of Waterloo.
