Casson comments on the politics of the Ontario Society of Artists (O.S.A) and the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts during his involvement with them, mentioning his own tenure as President of the O.S.A. Other topics discussed include: formation of the Canadian Group of Painters in 1932, death of J.E.H. MacDonald, Casson's activities as art director and Vice President of Sampson-Matthews. Casson recollects various sketching trips to Parry Sound, Otter Lake, Algonquin Park taken with his wife, Frank Carmichael, or other artists.
