Canadian Committee for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis : The International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis itself is an international body, formed in 1972. The Canadian Committee for the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis is the body by which Canadian membership is held in the IIASA. The members of the Committee were appointed by the Minister of State, Science and Technology from 1972-1976. The Mulitlateral Cooperation Division of the International Affairs Branch (later the Cooperation Branch) provided the secretariat for the Committee. In 1976, MOSST negotiated a transfer of this responsibility to the Institute for Research on Public Policy (IRPP), a non-governmental body. After 1976, MOSST continued to provide funds for Canada's annual dues in the IIASA, and offered other support to the Canadian Committee for a number of years. Also, the Minister of State, Science and Technology and the Board of the IRPP each nominated half of the members of the Canadian Committee for IIASA after 1976.
