Northern and Pacific Junction Railway Company : Under Dominion Act, 46 Vic., Cap. 67 of 24 May 1883 the Northern, North-Western and Sault Ste. Marie Railway Company's name was changed to the Northern and Pacific Junction Railway Company. Some 110.72 miles of line were built between Gravenhurst and Nipissing Junction and operations commenced in 1885. It was leased before completion to the Northern and North-Western. When this joint company was taken over by the Grand Trunk in 1888, the lease for the Northern and Pacific Junction was taken over as well. Under Dominion Act, 55-56 Vic., Cap. 39 of 10 May 1892 the Northern and Pacific Junction Railway Company amalgamated with the Grand Trunk Railway Company of Canada and took its name.
