A series of views relating to military garrison life in New Brunswick, but including views of Maine and Nova Scotia as well. The works relate primarily to such activities as duck, moose and deer hunting, camping, fishing (particularly salmon fishing), visits to lumber camps, scenes in the Fredericton garrison, and other activities undertaken by the artist while stationed in New Brunswick between 1853 and 1855. There are also views of native life, including Malecite and Micmac Indian encampments, and of identified native individuals.. Works by William Smyth Maynard Wolfe., Views of Quebec city and vicinity, particularly of native life and camps, done in the style of Millicent Mary Chaplin, although by an unidentified artist, possibly stationed in the Quebec City garrison..
