The accession consists of textual records, photographs, architectural drawings, prints, drawings, watercolours, reproductions and one film relating to the life and career of York Wilson. Also included are numerous Christmas cards from family friends. A portion of the fonds relates to the work of his wife Lela Wilson.
The textual records include documentation on exhibitions and art projects; business correspondence; personal correspondence; biographies, bibliographies and inventories; and personal material and memorabilia.
Accession consists primarily of photographs of the works of York Wilson. Also included in the accession are photographs of the work of artists J.S. Hallam and Virginia Kieran.
Film consists of a commentary by York Wilson on his art.
Accession consists of 5 blue-line and 2 black-line prints which illustrate the placement and dimensions of York Wilson's Salvation Army, Queen's Park and Carleton University mural projects. The two Salvation Army prints date from 1954 and were prepared by John B. Parkin Associates of Toronto. The four Queen's park Mural prints were prepared by the Associated Architects for Queen's Park Project in 1966. Janis Kravis Architect prepared the one black-line print for the Carleton University Mural project in 1969. The drawings accompany the textual materials of the accession.

Historique de la conservation :

The records found in this fonds constitute the nucleus of the personal archives of York and Lela Wilson. Compiled, arranged and maintained by Lela Wilson herself, the documents were formally transferred to the National Archives in 2000., Incorporated by Lela Wilson into what is now the Exhibitions, Publicity and Related Materials series of the fonds are several exhibition catalogues and documents which originally belonged to the Wilsons' friend Peter Haworth.
