Diefenbaker's trip to Edinborough, Scotland. Shot of Diefenbaker being interviewed by Scottish newspaper reporters preceeds lengthy coverage of a banquet given in the Prime Minister's honour at The Edinborough Hotel. Canadian-born media tycoon Roy Thomson and Dame Catherine Elliot greet guests including Scottish television directors, government officials, and peers. Also present is the Prime Minister's wife, Olive Diefenbaker; Elmer Diefenbaker, brother of the Prime Minister; and Canadian High Commissioner to Great Britain, George Drew. Excerpts of various toasts and speeches follow.
