It includes a discussion of Havran's family life and a sketch of Hungarian community life in Windsor from the 1920s to the post-World War II period. The account covers such subjects as the conditions in Europe which caused his father to emigrate in 1923 and then bring his family after him. It includes a description of his father's attempt to establish himself as a tailor and the effect of the Depression and World War II on these efforts. Havran's notes on the wider Hungarian community in Windsor include a discussion of friendship relationships, church life, the establishment of a Hungarian club and the role this served in the community, as well as observations on other aspects of community life as its members became more wealthy and integrated into the larger Canadian society.Provenance :Nom(s) additionnel(s) :Biographie/Histoire administrative :Havran, Martin J., 1929- : Born in 1929, Martin J.
