Series consists of microfilmed copies of location tickets covering the period 1881-1968 and a register of births, marriages, and deaths for the period 1904-1948. While the microfilm was produced by the Archives of Ontario in 1970, the originals were created and/or maintained by the Peterborough Agency. Technical problems in the filming process has resulted in the records being incorrectly positioned on the film. In order to utilize the film, the lens of the reader needs to be rotated 180 degrees and in some cases 225 degrees, in order to view the documentation.

Indian and Eskimo Affairs Program (Canada). Peterborough Agency : Apparently during the 1960s the name Peterborough Agency was adopted for what had been known as the Rice and Mud Lake Agency. The Peterborough Agency was responsible for: Alderville (1963-1970), Curve Lake (1963-1970), Hiawatha (1963-1970), Golden Lake (1966-1970), Mississaugas of Alnwick (-1963), Mississaugas of Mud Lake (-1963), and Mississaugas of Rice Lake (-1963). The agency was amalgamated into the Kingston District 15 July 1970. Finding aid 10-157: Guide to Indian Affairs Field Office Organization in Ontario, 1845-1990.

This microfilm was produced by the Archives of Ontario in 1970. The records were filmed in the field at the local offices of the Department of Indian Affairs while the records were still in the custody of the Department. The current locations of the original documents are unknown, although it is possible that some of the originals have found their way into accessions of records subsequently transferred to National Archives custody.
