L. Price in Toronto who talks about his experience as a labourer-teacher for Frontier College in 1933 and 1934. Price recalls his work in 1933 at a federal government relief camp at Camp Borden, Ontario where unemployed labourers were involved in reforestation projects and later that summer removing track and ties from unused rail lines for 20¢ a day. In 1934 Price was hired by Frontier College to supervise other labourer-teachers at several isolated relief camps along the English River near Hudson, Ontario where the unemployed labourers were sent as loggers. Discussion of the primitive living and working conditions in the camps, his somewhat futile attempts to interest the workers in educational classes and comments on Dr. Edmund Bradwin, former principal of Frontier College, are heard in the interview.Langue :EnglishDétails de l'inventaire : -
