Sub-sub-series consists of headquarters central registry or subject files from the file block 7000, that document the policy, operational, administrative and to some extent financial workings of the International Exchange Program. These files contain documentation explaining the program's coverage, exclusionary and eligibility provisions, international agreements and procedures. Some of the documentation available in these files consist of agreements, reports, proposals and correspondence concerning IEP's operations between 1979 to 1985.

Canada. Employment and Immigration Canada (Commission). International Exchange Program : In 1973, Manpower and Immigration introduced the novel International Exchange Program (IEP), designed to expose Canadian and foreign post-secondary students and young workers to the customs, culture, and working conditions in the host country. Some 50 countries participated in this program which provided participants with work experience in career-related occupations and exposed Canadian youth to other cultures. Participants acquired new skills, valuable foreign work experience and a better understanding and appreciation of other countries and cultures. In 1986, the program became the responsibility of the Department of External Affairs. RG118 General Inventory
