Notice descriptive – Détails Fonds/collection :ERSKINE, J.B.No d'acquisition :1986-0108Support :Enregistrement sonoreDate de production :1939-11-24Date de diffusion :1939-11-24Description :CBC Radio broadcast of a discussion between Leslie Roberts, Canadian writer and journalist, and historian W.L. Morton, of the University of Manitoba, about what Canadians think of the war. Roberts expresses the point of view of Eastern Canada and Morton of Western Canada as they discuss the reasons why Canada is fighting the war. They also discuss the "Defence of Canada Regulations", which restrict the rights of Canadian citizens during wartime, concerns over whether Canadians would regain their freedoms in peacetime, whether Canadians should equate the Nazis with all Germans and attitudes Canadians should take about the war. An unidentified announcer introduces the speakers and comes on again at the conclusion. The announcer states that the opinions expressed in the program are solely those of the speakers. This program is second in a series of interviews conduced by Leslie Roberts in various Canadian locations, with Canadians, about what they think of the war.Langue :EnglishRemarques :Détails de l'inventaire : -
