A collection of prints concerning the coal industry, primarily in Alberta. The images show both underground and above-ground operations: mine stopes; drilling; loading; pit heads; carbonizers; shops; and miners, both singly and in groups. Photos by Geological Survey of Canada, McDermid, Rice, H. Pollard..
These photographs were acquired by the Natural Resources Intelligence Branch for incorporation in its collections; these particular items are all missing from Accession 1936-271, Dept. of Interior collection, and these prints would appear to be the missing items..
