Audio recording of television program on the activities of the International Union of Mine, Mill and Smelter Workers, Local 598, in Sudbury, Ontario. Interviews with Mine Mill National President, Ken Smith, and Vice-President, Mike Solski. Smith states that the meeting at the Sudbury Arena demonstrated that members of Mine Mill were not going to let their union be bought or sold. Solski comments on being denied admission to the meeting along with Smith and others, and that the instructions came from Don Gillis. Interview with Canadian Labour Congress President, Claude Jodoin, and Local 598 President, Don Gillis, by reporter Ian MacLean. Jodoin states that the meeting was evidence of a small minority of people trying to destroy the democratic way of life. Gillis says that Smith and Solski were not invited to come to the meeting and that since the Arena was paid for by the CLC, with no Mine Mill money involved, he only invited those members he saw fit to invite, adding that he wasn't invited to the meeting when Mine Mill signed the deal with Teamsters. Gillis reports he will take legal action against Ken Smith for violating McRuer's order.
