This album, comprised of 107 pages on which 480 photographs are mounted, is of the travels on the C.G.S. Arctic (a German ship bought in 1904) during 1922 to 1924, on expeditions for the purpose of establishing permanent posts among the Arctic Islands. Photos are mostly by J.D. Craig, but also F.D. Henderson, L.D. Livingstone, and a few by Captain J.E. Bernier. Photographs display travel on the C.G.S. Arctic, following its crew and documenting the building of R.C.M.P. posts, contact with Greenland and Canadian Inuit, shooting and retrieving a polar bear, and landscapes and seascapes of the North. F.D. Henderson's and J.D. Craig's photos can also be found in album 52.
