This album, comprised of 90 pages on which 354 photographs are mounted, consists of various subject matters, such as whaling in Pangnirtung, R.S. Finnie filming movies, portraits of Inuit "types" from Pond Inlet, Natives of Greenland, musk-oxen on Devon Island, and R.C.M.P. posts in the North. The common thread is that all of the photographs are taken while travelling with the S.S. Beothic on the Eastern Arctic Patrol. Photos by G.P. MacKenzie (1928, 1930), L.D. Morin (1928, 1929), R.S. Finnie (1928, 1929), L.D. Livingstone (1928, 1929), L.T. Burwash (1931), and a few photographs from Constable Desrsch. Other Beothic passengers include employees of Knight Prospecting Co. and reporters.
Some of these photographs can be found in other albums in this accession. For example, some of Finnie's 1929 photos are also in album 50, some of Livingstone's 1929 photos are also in album 52, and some of Burwash's photos are also in albums 47, 50, and 52. The others could be checked to see if they are in other albums as well.
