Series consists of certificates, awards, degrees and letters patent conferred on Dr. Lamb, as well as three degrees conferred on his wife. Included are the letters patent appointing him Dominion Archivist of Canada in 1948 and the letters patent appointing him as Canada's first national librarian, 1 January 1953. Two files of miscellaneous awards dating from 1953 to 1995 are located in volume 37, files 1 and 2. Also included is his birth certificate, 1904, located in volume 19, file 1.

There are also five b&w photographs showing Dr. Lamb receiving a Doctor of Laws, honoris causa; three photos from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, 1966, taken by Tom Boohsler Photography, Hamilton, Ontario; and two photos from the University of Saskatchewan, 1956, one taken by Len Hillyard, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and the other the photographer is unknown. These photographs complement accompanying awards located in volume 19, file 3 and volume 31.
