Quebec Oriental Railway Company : The Quebec Oriental Railway was incorporated under Quebec Act, 3 Edward VII, Cap. 82 of 25 April 1903 to construct a railway from Rivière du Loup to Matapedia. No construction was undertaken, however, but on 19 May 1909 it obtained the property and line of the Atlantic and Lake Superior Railway Company, which included the trackage of the Bay Des Chaleurs Railways Company. This line amounted to 100.9 miles between Matapedia and Paspebiac. It then operated as part of the Gaspé railway in connection with the Atlantic, Quebec and Western Railway Company.
