Series consists of two files on visiting parties to HMCS Bonaventure and weapon systems on the ship.

Aperture cards of technical drawings for everything from general arrangement profiles of decks to arrangements of scuppers, soils and drains; ventilation and hydraulic services by deck to the arrangement of steam and drains in the laundry and galley areas; compass platform, radio, and room layouts (such as crypto office, operations, radar control and gun direction rooms); modifications to shell plating; arrangement of boilers, cabins and dining halls, down to arrangement of guard rails.

Bonaventure (Aircraft carrier) : HMCS Bonaventure was launched in February 1945 as an Aircraft Carrier. The ship was upgraded in 1952 with a longer angled flight deck, a steam catapult, and a mirror landing site. Recommissioned on 17 January 1957, the Bonaventure arrived in Halifax in June carrying Banshee jet fighters and Tracker A/S aircraft. She was paid off on 1 July 1970, and sold for scrap. The H.M.C.S. Bonaventure was the Royal Canadian Navy's light fleet aircraft carrier, named for the island bird sanctuary in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. "Bonnie" was built at the Harland and Wolff shipyard in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Originally laid down in 1943 as the British navy's H.M.S. Powerful, construction halted in 1946 and didn't resume until 1952, by which time the ship had been offered for sale to the Canadian navy. The delay to complete the ship meant that modern advances, such as the angled flight deck, a steam catapult and a mirror landing sight could be added before the ship was finished and commissioned on 17 January 1957. On Bonaventure's deck on the initial trip to Canada was the experimental hydrofoil Bras d'Or R-103, the forerunner to the HMCS Bras d'Or FHE 400, also transitioning from the British to the Canadian navy.

The Bonaventure carried F2H-3 Banshee jet fighters, CS2F-2 Tracker anti-submarine aircraft and Sikorsky HO4S helicopters. Though she was primarily involved in flight training and NATO exercises, in 1962 she was recalled to North American waters from the North Atlantic during the Cuban Missile Crisis and, in 1964, she transported men, equipment and supplies to Cyprus in support of the UN Peacekeeping Force.

A political controversy arose when what should have been the ship's mid-life refit, in 1966-67, went well over-budget by several million dollars. To economize, Bonaventure was sold for scrap in 1970 and was not replaced.
