Series consists of material lent for microfilming in 1982 by Chief Justice R.S. Furlong: three entry books entitled "Records of Newfoundland during the Government of Vice-Admiral Sir J.T. Duckworth, K.B., Volume 1 - 26 May 1810 - 30 Sept. 1811; Volume 2 - 1 Oct. 1811 - 29 Aug. 1812; Volume 3 - 29 Aug. 1812 - 29 March 1813.

Entered in the volumes are copies of the instructions given to Duckworth, of the commissions and appointments made by him, and of accounts, returns, incoming and outgoing letters and other recorts of importance, including his visitation of the outports.

The careful penmanship of these copies of the records of Duckworth's Newfoundland governorship permits a reader to use them to verify or correct the spellings and dates provides in Finding Aid 100 for the illegible and undated original documents found in other parts of the collection.

In the latter part of Volume 3, which was presumably completed by Duckworth himself without the aid of a secretary, the penmanship is less careful and the copies of Duckworth's own letters are unsigned. The formal indexing at the beginning of the book found in Volumes 1 and 2 was also left undone, though there is a separate draft for that index.
