Series consists of biographical data on Oswald Sterling Finnie 1890-1978 including correspondence and manuscripts concerning his career as administrator of the Yukon and Northwest territories; scrapbooks concerning R.S. Finnie's career as a reporter with the Ottawa Citizen 1924 to 1927 and the construction of the Alaska Highway 1942 to 1943; an indexed scrapbook of O.S. Finnie concerning the Yukon 1902 to 1932; scrapbooks concerning his grandfather David Maclachlan Finnie who was General Manager of the Bank of Ottawa during its merger with the Bank of Nova Scotia in 1919; and stock certificates and notices are included in the scrapbooks as well as clippings concerning the merger.

Series also consists of correspondence and a diary concerning the Finnie Family property at Carp, Ontario and correspondence concerning the Klondyke and the Finnie, Sloss and Gerstle families; and a scrapbook on his maternal grandfather Richard Roediger, Editor of the Dawson City News 1901-1913 is included.
